ETERNITY AND A DAY – Coming Soon

Kherson, a city that has experienced both occupation and liberation, still faces daily attacks — separated from the frontline by nothing but a river. This film is not about war, but about courage and the need to create despite it. In the summer of 2023, when filming began, the theatre’s windows were still intact, but they were gradually destroyed by rocket strikes. Entry to Kherson is forbidden for foreigners, and Ukrainian journalists can work there only under strict limitations, which makes this film unique. The director was granted permission to live for several months inside the theatre and observe how it operates so close to the frontline — how its people repair the damage, rehearse new productions, and together grapple with fear and hope. The film portrays the everyday life of those who remained in Kherson and, despite the war, still feel a profound need to create.
